Shawn rolled into the pits Saturday night at Lucas Oil Speedway looking for his first win of the season. Late Saturday night he left with the trophy and $750 winners check. Shawn got off on the right foot by winning his caution riddled heat race. He sat on the pole for the feature and quickly got out to the lead. He fended off early challenges from Jason Russell, and then a furious push late in the race by Austin Siebert. The pair dodged in and out of lap traffic over the final few laps and Shawn was able to beat Siebert to the checkers by less than half of a car. He credited Terry Phillips and Mike Striegel in victory lane for help and set up advice on the race car. His A arm and J bar issues seem to be all squared away as he was the class of the field in an excellent 25 lap feature. There were 38 total modifieds racing Saturday at Wheatland.
